#DearPaul, like you I rely on God’s grace always.

Paul was an anointed Man of God who had seen God and had been used by him to do amazing things. But Paul had a weakness which he referred to as “A thorn in his flesh”. He had overcome many things but this was something he struggled with consistently.  Read 2nd Corinthians 12: 7.

Read 2nd Corinthians 12: 7.

As Christians, we all have a thorn in our flesh (a person, sin, trial or a weakness); something we struggle with and can’t shake off easily. Verse 19 is an encouragement for us.

“But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble ]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP

As we grow in our walk with God we tend to become self-reliant because of our many accomplishments. We forget that it is in Him “that we live and move and have our being.” The thorn in our flesh is a reminder that we are nothing without his Grace or as Paul defined it “His strength is made perfect in our weakness.”

We are always going to need our father in heaven and He is always going to be here for us!

Be encouraged!

  1. So sometimes I wish I didn’t have xyz in my life. I even wonder why xyz is my friend. Then God’s Spirit says “pray for xyz” that is why xyz is in your life and is stepping on your sore big toe. His grace is there to helps us obey HIM.
